Greetings Brethren,
Thank You, Thank You , Thank You!!!!! I couldn’t be more proud of all of you who stepped up in so many different ways to help out with this Community Day/Fish Fry event. From hitting up businesses to drum up sponsorships, I thank you. From going out and putting up advertising throughout the community and at businesses, I thank you. For all the financial donations and donations of soda and the loaning of your coolers, I thank you. For all the Brothers and their family members who came out and gave of their time, whether it was for a few hours or all day, or for both days, I thank you. To those who came for the set up and tear down and helping with all the heavy lifting to get things out of the basement and then put back, I thank you. For those who put in late hours to help with the cleanup each night, I thank you. To the ladies of the Eastern Star who ran the kitchen and prepared all the sides and did the majority of the inside serving, I thank you. To all of you who just plain came out and supported your Lodge by attending the event and bringing family, friends and neighbors, I thank you. An event of this size can’t be done by a handful of people. It is only by all of us working together in so many different ways that we are able to pull it off. Each and every one of you has my thanks. Lastly, a really big THANK YOU to WB Ron Featherston for heading up this monstrous task and agreeing to be the Chairman of the event; even though it took a great deal of pulling on his Cable Tow. Anyone who has chaired this event in the past knows just how many hours you put in throughout this year in order to pull this off. My hat’s off to you.
I hope I didn’t leave any group out in the above but if I did, I am sorry and I do thank you. My mind is still in a fog from this weekend. We did get a lot of feedback so far on this event and some very good constructive criticism. We would love to hear from more of you on what you think went well and what you think maybe didn’t go so well or that you didn’t care for. Also if you have any suggestions on improving upon the event let us know that as well. I intend to have a Lessons Learned session with some of the key planners of the event to go over some things and find ways in which we can improve as a whole going forward, so please email me, or call or text any ideas/suggestions. Hopefully, by Stated Meeting we will have official numbers of how we did for this event as a whole.
So, coming up this Tuesday we will be having dinner and a Masonic Education night. Our Guest Speaker will be Brother Shamus Driver who will be talking about the Middle Chamber Lecture; specifically the architectural aspects of the five pillars and explaining what all those crazy, weird terms mean. He also promises to have better photos to illustrate what they are so please come on out and enjoy some fellowship as well as a masonic lesson. Following the education, we will be having Craft Guild to shake off the rust and get ready to do some degree work again. We have a Master Mason Degree coming up in October as well as a Grand Master’s One Day class where we will be conferring the Fellow Craft Degree on Nov 6th. We can always use more Brothers to step up and help out with ritual. WB Bruce always makes it an enjoyable learning experience.
As everyone will recall, this year’s Master Mason class is dedicated to the memory of WB Mark Griffin. The rocks glasses commissioned to honor the memory of WB Mark Griffin are in and can be purchased from your officers. These glasses look incredible and are American made! The price for a single glass will be $10.00, two for $18.00 and a set of 4 will be $35.00. Make sure to get your glass(es) early to remember the life of such a dedicated Mason and Veteran.
Quote of the Week:
“One has to remember that every failure can be a stepping stone to something better.”

Brothers you should always be pushing yourself forward. Always look for opportunities to improve yourself in a multitude of different ways. Don’t let the fear of failure be the reason you never try in the first place. Embrace your failures and learn from them. That is how we grow as individuals and become stronger and get to be the better men we are striving to be.

Master’s Travels
If anyone is planning to travel or visit another Lodge or has been asked to come assist with a degree, please reach out to me and let me know so we can get a few more Brothers to go and make a visit out of it. Below is the travel opportunities site I go to. If you see anything there that interests you make sure to let me know. This is also a great opportunity for Mentors to take their mentees to see some extra degree work to aid in their learning.
We are sitting at 10 different Lodges visited for a total of 590 round trip miles. We have completed the requirements for both of the Grand Lodge Travel Awards. That doesn’t mean we are going to stop traveling as I would like to see us go for some of the many traveling implements in the area and bring them home to Millersville. We will have a bit more upcoming travel soon as we will once again be going dark during July and August, however, we will need to keep our ritual game strong by traveling around and watching and being a part of degrees at other Lodges.
